John Farman's Drawings

John Farman

I was born at the end of the war (2nd) and was brought up in the Greater London suburbs. Despite a fairly dismal schooling, I found my feet at Harrow School of Art and eventually gained an MA in design and illustration from the Royal College of Art. I left to begin a successful (financially) career in illustration and design - mostly in advertising - which lasted many years.

Jaded by the commercial art world, I took up writing and published over thirty books. A year ago, jaded by the commercial side of publishing, I hung up my word-processor and returned to drawing. So far my work is unseen by the public.

I now live half in London and half by the sea in South Devon. I still have no idea what I want to do when I grow up!

My images are in pen and ink and coloured by either coloured-pencils or ink.
